Allison shares her experience with Oshi Health.

How did you feel about your GI symptoms before starting care with Oshi?

At the start of receiving care from Oshi, I had a bad IBS flare-up as well as what we later figured out was SIBO. I was in a lot of pain every day. Stomach aches, constipation, diarrhea, bloating, pain from the time I woke up to, till the end, and taking a lot of supplements and medications throughout the day to just be able to digest and feel OK.

Now, after being treated for severe constipation and SIBO, I’m feeling a lot better. I’m not really taking any um supplements or medications besides just regular day to day things. I’m not having any stomachaches, not having any bloating. So it’s been a real 180 in symptoms.

What tips or strategies have you learned while working with Oshi?

I’d say it’s threefold. It was looking at nutrition and what foods aggravated or I wanted to avoid at the time of having my symptoms, that I learned with the nutritionist and dietitian. Medication wise, through the GI and then working with, therapists and working with meditation and visualization and belly breathing, practicing that and being mindful throughout the day. I was able to drop into those meditations pretty easily, and I found them effective at least in the moment, alleviating pain.

How would you describe your Oshi experience to a friend who’s struggling with similar symptoms?

I have had a really positive experience. I think it’s been really helpful being able to access appointments as well as doing a three-prong approach to treatment, holistically, treating all the prongs that affect IBS: mentally, physically, nutrition-wise. The biggest benefit I think is being able to schedule those appointments and having multiples, so easily and readily available through video instead of waiting months or weeks to get in to a GI that would be in person. Really thankful for the service, and I’ve really appreciated it.
