At Oshi, we are so confident in our value that we are willing to risk 100% of our fees to prove it.

ROI claims are plentiful, and most are made without concrete evidence or transparency–so why would you trust them to live up to their promise? At Oshi, we are so confident in our value that we are willing to risk 100% of our fees to prove it.

Let us be clear: This is a calculated decision based on extensive clinical and actuarial analysis.

We built Oshi with the knowledge and core belief that in our current landscape of staggering and escalating healthcare costs, health benefits must drive tangible clinical outcomes and hard dollar savings at scale. Oshi’s revolutionary approach to GI health was developed to provide high-quality, virtual patient care in an evidence-based model.

We have tested our model, and we know that it works, at scale. With this in mind, we invite you to take a peek under our hood to understand how we drive value. We know that our approach is effective, and we invite you to give us a chance to show you exactly how Oshi can drive value for your company.

You have nothing to lose… and a whole lot to gain.

How is the Oshi Model Designed to Drive Value?

The Oshi Health clinic has multiple built-in value drivers – each built to ensure a measurable ROI to the employers, health plans, and other risk-bearing entities that utilize our services.

The Oshi model was built to help people feel better, faster. Our virtual center of excellence drives meaningful outcomes for people in every city, state, and region. Under our care, people get the treatment they need in a way that is both efficient and cost-effective.

Oshi’s underlying pricing model is set-up to hold ourselves and our clinicians accountable for optimal outcomes – through a value-based pricing structure. Our fees are tied to patient progress and outcomes, making us accountable for ensuring clinical and financial outcomes. This creates the right incentives for our in-house multidisciplinary team of clinicians – who focus on taking the most conservative path to finding the right treatment path for each patient.

Oshi also drives value through its in-network provider relationships with both national and regional insurance carriers. By offering patients GI care through Oshi, companies don’t incur the extra costs that come with point solutions. Instead, companies simply get more value from the money they are already spending on healthcare.

Another key value driver is optimized healthcare utilization. Patients with access to Oshi get to the root of their condition and learn how to manage their symptoms – ending the need for avoidable emergency care and duplicative GI-related imaging. As a true medical clinic, Oshi can diagnose, treat and prescribe. When in-person care is needed, Oshi directs patients to optimal sites of care and manages follow-up, ensuring quality care without driving up expenses.

How does Oshi calculate ROI?

ROI should not be a hazy concept. When you invest in something like health care, you should know that your investment will have a return and exactly how that return will show up.

We’ve seen other organizations suggesting hugely inflated ROI projections based on unprovable or untrackable metrics or assumptions not grounded in reality. These companies claim a 5:1 ROI based on “improved productivity” or “increased efficiency” at work. While employees are more productive and efficient when they feel better, it’s nearly impossible to tie those numbers to tangible financial outcomes. In fact, many solutions focused on maximizing engagement drive enrollment without associated outcomes and in fact higher costs due to the lack of accountability to outcomes and savings.

Our methodology is intended to be transparent, scalable, and relieve our partners of administrative burden. We calculate ROI by comparing the average fees per patient to the savings measurement. Average baseline costs (i.e., fees per patient) are based on national commercial claims for GI episodes of care analyzed by a 3rd party actuarial firm. Our savings measurement is calculated by comparing Oshi clinician orders of high-cost imaging and diagnostics to the standard GI care pathway and resulting outcomes. From there, we can estimate how Oshi care can impact costs in other categories by measuring symptom improvement and overall control of GI symptoms.

We’ve leveraged the same methodology used in the clinical trial run independently run by a national health plan, providing further validation around the ability of our approach to drive outcomes and savings. This formula allows us to put a concrete financial value behind our services, giving us a framework to deliver value-based care and confidently stand behind our services with an ROI guarantee.

How Does Oshi Ensure Cost Savings?

One concern employers have expressed to us is that increasing access to GI could inherently increase utilization and thus, costs. We understand this concern–skyrocketing healthcare costs can make it feel counterintuitive to market additional benefits.

Fortunately, we haven’t found this to be the case.

While every patient’s journey is different, we’ve found that low-acuity patients often choose not to seek care until their symptoms become unbearable. Then, they end up in high-cost settings like the ER. Conversely, high-acuity patients want to know what’s happening to them, so they seek out appointment after appointment, test after test, driving up costs without driving results.

By focusing on accountability to the needs of both low- and high-acuity patients, patients can get the answers and care they need quickly before their symptoms become acute. Moreover, by eliminating the typical months-long wait for a GI appointment, patients can address symptoms and get treatment quickly, mitigating flare-ups and helping them avoid high-cost scoping, testing, and emergency visits.

How Can Plan Sponsors Get an ROI From Oshi?

It’s likely Oshi Health is already in network with your health plan and a small number of your people may already be using our virtual clinic. This means you may already be receiving some level of ROI. But your savings could be even greater if we work together.

So what can you do?

You can maximize the ROI on the investment you are already making by ensuring your members know Oshi Health is available to them. Let them know they don’t have to suffer in silence or wait months to see a specialist when they have GI symptoms. They can get help right away and feel better faster.

We’re so confident in the value of this care that we are willing to put 100% of our fees behind it.
