Recipe: Easy Hummus and Crudité
Bye-bye, store-bought hummus. Hello, homemade! This ultra-easy food processor hummus recipe will become your go-to for dipping and spreading.
To make this hummus super smooth, drain the chickpeas and gently rub between two kitchen towels to remove the skins before adding them to the food processor.
This Mediterranean diet recipe is dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan.
Makes 4 servings
What you’ll need
Hummus
- 1 can (15 oz.) chickpeas, no added salt
- 3 tbsp lemon juice (½ lemon)
- 1 tsp garlic
- 4 tbsp tahini
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp cumin
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2-3 tbsp warm water
- Flat leaf parsley (optional)
Crudité
- Carrots
- Cucumbers
- Celery
- Bell peppers
Directions
1. Drain the chickpeas.
2. Add all the hummus ingredients to the food processor and process on high until smooth. Add more water, if needed.
3. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and garnish with finely chopped parsley. Serve with crudité.
