Mayra Garcia-Zeda, MHSN, RD, LDN

Registered Dietitian

Mayra Garcia-Zeda is a registered dietitian who is deeply committed to preventive care and driven by a passion for improving patient outcomes and quality of life through dietary care. Fluent in English and Spanish, she has over a decade of experience in culturally sensitive, evidence-based nutrition care.

At Oshi Health, she uses nutrition as a key tool for disease management and health promotion, offering compassionate dietary care tailored to each patient’s individual needs and goals. Her approach goes beyond nutritional advice, considering psychological, cultural, and external factors that affect health and wellness.

With a background that spans major healthcare organizations, telehealth, and private practice, Mayra brings a wealth of experience to her current role. Before joining Oshi, she worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient and outpatient care environments. Her focus areas have included gastrointestinal (GI) care, renal nutrition, and chronic disease management. She has also completed advanced FODMAP training at Monash University.

In her free time, Mayra collaborates with the nutrition community through DEI initiatives and enjoys exploring new cultures, trying new recipes, and spending time with her husband and two sons.

“I believe in meeting patients where they are and providing tailored dietary advice that aligns with their cultural backgrounds and individual health needs. My practice emphasizes making small, gradual changes that can lead to significant, lasting improvements in health and lifestyle.”

Favorite gut health tip

Eat a diet filled with fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. The aim isn’t to change your diet entirely but to optimize it with nutrient-rich foods. Eating regularly and mindfully, along with small, consistent changes, can make a significant impact on your overall health.
