Why redesigning GI care is personal.

In 2017, Sam’s mom was diagnosed with IBS and told about the low FODMAP diet, which she figured out all on her own. She made changes that helped for a while, but a major life event triggered stress and anxiety, which caused her IBS to flare, landing her in the emergency room and hospital.

As Sam unpacked what had happened to his mom and why she hadn’t gotten the care she needed in critical moments, his passion for solving systemic problems in healthcare was ignited. This passion and accountability to patients shaped Oshi’s path to reinvent the digestive health patient experience, and democratize access to proven dietary and gut-brain psychology care with the goal of symptom control – something that had eluded his mother.

Since 2019, Oshi has been the industry leader in virtual GI care, gaining national recognition for its evidence-based care through proven outcomes. But we measure success with every patient who says we’ve changed their life.
