I believe in moving away from restrictive "dieting" and fostering a healthy relationship with food while identifying any specific food triggers and diet modifications that will feel sustainable to maintain over the long term. It's important to me that every care plan is collaborative, personalized, and designed for long-tern health rather than a quick fix.

Megan Hilbert Fruehe is a registered dietitian with years of experience providing compassionate nutrition care. At Oshi, Megan helps patients move away from restrictive dieting toward a healthier, more sustainable relationship with food. Her approach focuses on identifying individual food triggers while building realistic nutrition strategies that support long-term digestive health. Every care plan is collaborative and personalized, designed to help patients feel better while still enjoying a wide variety of foods.

She began her career in a clinic setting, working with patients managing chronic disease, before transitioning into outpatient care, where she developed her passion for gastrointestinal (GI) nutrition. Since then, she’s worked extensively with patients experiencing irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastritis, as well as conditions like PMOS and autoimmune disorders.

Megan’s care philosophy is rooted in whole-person care. She recognizes that digestive health is influenced by many factors beyond diet, including stress, lifestyle, environment, and mental well-being. When working with patients, she takes the time to understand all aspects of their lives before developing an individualized nutrition plan. She believes the most effective plans are those that feel realistic and flexible, not those that focus on restriction.

Outside of work, Megan enjoys reading, gardening, pottery, knitting, sewing, and camping.
