Providing whole person care involves understanding not only the GI disorder and associated symptoms, but how that specific issue can impact other parts of the body and then utilizing the appropriate multidisciplinary teams to help treat and manage it all together.
Jentry De Castro is a family nurse practitioner who believes in treating the whole person—not just their symptoms. At Oshi, she works with patients to better understand how their gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms affect their overall health and daily life.
Her experience spans gastroenterology, internal medicine, and psychiatry. She previously worked as a GI nurse practitioner at the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinical Center at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and, most recently, as an inpatient GI hospitalist at a Level I trauma center in Florida. This experience has given her a deep appreciation for how interconnected digestive health is with overall well-being.
Jentry recognizes that nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, and other lifestyle factors can all play a role in digestive health alongside compassionate medical care. She’s passionate about bringing these pieces together and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to create personalized, comprehensive care for each patient.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband and kids, whether they’re at the beach, exploring somewhere new, or trying a new restaurant together.
