Welcome to Oshi Patient Stories, an interview series where we hear from the real people who have found lasting relief from digestive symptoms with Oshi’s virtual gastrointestinal (GI) care. In today’s interview, Indigo shares how Oshi Health helped her regain control of her life from GI symptoms—including going back to grad school (and graduating this month!)
Indigo shares her experience with Oshi Health.
How were GI symptoms impacting your quality of life before you found Oshi Health?
My GI symptoms were significantly impacting my quality of life before I found Oshi Health.
It got to the point where my symptoms were getting in the way of me, you know, focusing at work. I had to take a leave of absence from grad school because of my GI symptoms. It didn’t seem like there’s gonna be any resolution or answers to why I was having such significant GI symptoms, but I joined Oshi Health and I was able to get a lot of my questions answered and a lot of symptom relief.
How has your life changed since working with Oshi?
My life has changed completely since working with Oshi Health.
I am able to better manage my symptoms with the help of the registered dietitian, the behavior specialist, and of course the GI provider, the physician. I am able to look forward to the future.
Before I was working with Oshi Health, it felt like I could only focus on one day at a time and just get through the day and, you know, make it to the next day. But now that I’ve been working with Oshi Health, I’m able to like plan for the future and think, you know, 10, 15, 20 years from now.
I’m able to kind of better cultivate my dreams and hopes, my aspirations, my motivation. And my focus has been sharper and better than it has ever been. I’ve been able to get back into grad school. I’m actually gonna be done soon at the end of June, so I’m able to get stuff done. I’m performing super well at work now that my symptoms are better managed. I can focus better, so I’m able to get promoted and really excel at work thanks to Oshi Health.
What would you say to someone who is considering treatment with Oshi?
The biggest thing that I would love to say to someone who’s considering treatment with Oshi is: you are not alone. There are so many people who are wanting to help you and support you through your diagnosis and treatment journey.
It may seem like no one’s listening and that these symptoms are gonna last for the rest of your life, but I would say Oshi Health really is there for you, and they have a multidisciplinary team full of people who are passionate about GI health in their work and who want to get to the bottom of the issues that you’re having.
So I would say don’t give up and consider Oshi Health. They’ve changed my life. I’m very confident that they will be able to guide you and help find the treatment plan that’s perfect for you.
