About the program
Oshi Health is whole-person gastrointestinal (GI) care with a team of expert GI providers, registered dietitians, and gut-brain specialists—and virtual visits available when you need them. We provide clinically-proven, personalized care for all types of GI symptoms and conditions, whether or not you have a diagnosis.
We treat hundreds of GI conditions—including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), gastritis, and more—as well as digestive symptoms like diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, and bloating.
Whether or not you have a diagnosis, our GI specialists can address the root cause of your symptoms so you can get back to life without digestive issues.
Our evidence-based care helps patients find lasting relief through ongoing access to a dedicated team of GI specialists, with virtual visits and chat messaging through our mobile app.
Establishing your care plan:
When you sign up, we take time to get to know you, your symptoms, and your care needs. You’ll first meet with a GI provider, who will review your health history and build your tailored care plan over the course of one or two visits.
Working towards symptom control:
Once your care plan is established, you’ll make progress to gain and maintain symptom control through unlimited visits with your dedicated care team—including a GI provider, registered dietitian, and/or gut-brain specialist based on your unique needs.
You’ll have 12 months of unlimited access to a dedicated team of GI experts, working across specialties to improve your quality of life by treating and managing your symptoms. Your care team may include:
- Gastroenterologists
- GI providers (nurse practitioners and physician assistants)
- Registered dietitians
- Gut-brain specialists
You’ll also have access to our care coordinators, who can help you navigate your health journey, including medical record retrieval and any external referrals or procedural needs.
In addition, you’ll have access to the Oshi Health mobile app for virtual visits and unlimited chat messaging with your care team, on-demand appointment scheduling, and personalized care plans, all in one convenient place.
We put you in the driver’s seat—going at your pace and providing you with as much support as you need to gain and maintain symptom control. We have appointments available when you need them, including evening and weekend options, so you can meet with your care team when it’s convenient for you.
Your privacy is our top concern. Our HIPAA-compliant mobile app and systems are fully encrypted to keep your medical information protected, and we engage in regular security checks to ensure our practices are current and effective. We never share individual-level medical information with employers or third party companies.

Insurance and Billing
Oshi Health GI provider visits, including unlimited dietary and behavioral health support services are included with your Aetna® plan. All standard co-pays and deductibles may apply as noted in your plan benefit details.
Yes, co-pays, deductibles, and other costs related to visits or external care services are HSA or FSA eligible for most patients. We recommend checking with your FSA/HSA provider for more information and details as to how you can use these funds.
If you receive care outside of Oshi Health, or if our care team refers you for necessary external services (such as lab tests, in-person physical exams, or medications from your pharmacy), your standard insurance copays or deductibles will apply. Oshi Health’s Care Coordination team strives to find in-network, affordable partners for these external services.
As part of your onboarding experience, Oshi Health will request your Aetna health insurance information. Covered care services provided by Oshi Health will be billed through your insurance and your standard in-network co-pays and deductibles will apply.
While we’d love to continue to provide you with support, we understand that you may choose to stop participating in the program. If you choose to discontinue, we will only bill for services that have been rendered at the time of notification.
About the providers
When you sign up for Oshi Health, you’ll get access to a dedicated team of GI specialists, which may include:
- Gastroenterologists
- GI providers (nurse practitioners and physician assistants)
- Registered dietitians
- Gut-brain specialists
Our priority is to address the root cause of your symptoms and improve your quality of life by connecting you to the right providers based on your unique needs.
Gastroenterologists are licensed, board-certified doctors with advanced training in the management of GI conditions and symptoms, such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), pancreatitis, and more.
After medical school, gastroenterologists complete a three-year residency in internal medicine, followed by an additional three-year fellowship with specialized training in gastroenterology. Oshi Health Gastroenterologists have all completed their fellowship training at a program certified by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Our GI providers include nurse practitioners and physician assistants—licensed professionals with specialized education, training, and experience in GI conditions and symptoms. They deliver high-quality, personalized care under the guidance of a gastroenterologist.
Registered dietitians are licensed experts in nutritional care who hold nationally recognized certifications from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and have completed accredited, supervised practice programs. Dietitians work in a variety of settings and practice areas.
Our registered dietitians have specialized education and training in gastroenterology. They provide our patients with tailored dietary and nutrition guidance to optimize digestive health and overall well-being, while keeping symptoms at bay.
Our gut-brain specialists are licensed professionals with an advanced degree in psychology or other behavioral health specialties. They have deep knowledge of the science behind the brain-gut connection and are trained in evidence-based therapies—such as gut-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, gut-directed hypnotherapy, mindfulness-based skills, and more—that reduce GI symptoms and enhance well-being.
Our care coordinators help you manage the logistics of care while also supporting our clinical providers to ensure coordination. We know that sharing medical history, scheduling appointments, filling out insurance forms, navigating health plan coverage and benefits, and finding local test sites (if needed) can be challenging—so our care coordinators help facilitate these tasks. Care coordinators at Oshi Health also have advanced training to understand the complexities of GI traditional care, including endoscopies, infusions, and more.
Medical services
Oshi Health can serve as an extension of your care by providing you with wraparound services to address the root cause of your symptoms, such as personalized dietary guidance and gut-brain therapies.
With virtual visits, including evening and weekend availability, you can also get support from Oshi Health GI providers (nurse practitioners and physician assistants) between visits with your gastroenterologist. We’ll collaborate with your doctor as you request to ensure your care is coordinated.
Yes, your Oshi Health GI provider can prescribe medications, sending orders to the pharmacy of your choice. Just like other clinical practices, Oshi Health GI providers can also order labs, imaging studies, and other clinical tests, when necessary, in partnership with a local lab or GI clinic. For labs, imaging, and other external services, standard copays and deductibles may apply as noted in your plan benefit details.
You’ll meet with your team of GI specialists through the Oshi Health mobile app to develop and make progress toward your individual care plan. We also provide hybrid care as needed, partnering with local gastroenterologists to collaborate on your care. If in-person services are needed, we take a concierge approach—helping you find a convenient, in-network location. Please note that standard copays and deductibles may apply for any external services, as noted in your plan benefit details.
While we are not an urgent care clinic, we offer the ability to get seen quickly, making us a great option for time-sensitive needs. If you are experiencing new or worsening symptoms, you can always reach out to Oshi Health at (646) 876-8455. By navigating the options, you can connect with a medical provider who can provide advice and help guide your next step, which could include helping you determine if an expedited appointment might be needed. As always, if you feel you need emergency care, please dial 911 or your local emergency number immediately.
